Cousins’ memories…

“I think the thing I most remember about Herschel is him coming to my father’s house (Uncle Bunny) to blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanah. At that point, my father could no longer walk to shul and he really appreciated Herschel coming. And Herschel wanted to make sure my Dad would hear the shofar! I think Herschel was very proud of knowing how to blow that shofar and loved sharing it.”

“Herschel always playfully teased me…and playfully teased our kids when they were young!”

“Herschel was just good all the way around. I miss him.”

One of his brothers remembers: “Herschel helped me with my bar mitzvah!”

A friend remembers…

“He was kind, generous, likeable, and a ba’al chessed. Our kids loved him. They enjoyed the jelly beans he brought for Shabbos treats!”

And me? I remember…

Kind soul…

Soft side…

Humor…

Artful gardening…

Learning even though he only had short amounts of time…and what he accomplished in those times!

Appreciation for Hashem’s (G-d’s) beauty…

His dedication to his family…

May the neshamah (soul) of Herschel Avraham ben (son of) Simcha Yosef have an aliyah (elevation).
