Sorting through my husband’s papers is time-consuming and confusing. What do I keep? Will I need this document? Do I really need to keep an invoice from two years ago? What were his intentions in maintaining certain receipts?

This evening, a good friend joined me for dinner and sorting. Sorting with a buddy created a pleasant and congenial atmosphere. It was helpful to work with someone who is level-headed. Additionally, my buddy is not bound up in the emotions of the moment.

Although we didn’t find any treasures this time, we made progress and created order. I’m grateful for my friend’s guidance.

(And yes, we did toss invoices from 2007!)

Here’s hoping that I am honoring the unspoken thoughts and intentions of my husband, Herschel Avraham ben Simcha Yosef.
