Why is it every time I see a snow plow I blink as if startled? What does it surprise me to see snow plows on trucks in December in Ohio? Why am I doubly shocked to see blue trucks with snow plows on them? Snow plow trucks are perfectly normal in December  in the cold climates. Why am I so shocked? Why am I sad when I see the small commercial snow plow trucks?

I know I promised myself not to analyze my feelings right now. However, these questions beg obvious answers. Nothing seems “normal” right now. And each time I see a snow plow truck, I think of Herschel. He had a blue truck, so no wonder why I’m “doubly shocked.”

Herschel Avraham ben Simcha Yosef, please watch over all the snow plowers and keep them safe in their difficult yet useful, helpful work.
